Dr. Jennifer Steelesmith
Dr. Jennifer Steelesmith grew up in the south towns of Buffalo, NY. Liking animals from a young age, she decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine after volunteering at several local veterinary clinics. Dr. Jenny graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She enjoys getting to know clients and helping them to take the best possible care of their pets. Dr. Jenny and her husband have two children, Ethan and Abby, and a dog named Ruger.
Dr. Peter Olson
A career OSU student, Dr. Olson graduated with a B.S. in zoology in 2002, and from the OSU School of Veterinary Medicine in June, 2007.
He worked for Dr. Land during undergraduate and veterinary school, since 2000. His hobbies include kayaking with his wife, attending sporting events (Go Bucks and Crew!), movies, and movie trivia.
Dr. Rebecca Land
Dr. Rebecca Land was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She is the daughter of Drs. Rona Shapiro and Alec Land. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Dayton and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Land has a passion for fostering the human-animal bond and enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.
In her time away from the hospital, Dr. Land enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her friends, family, and yellow lab named Theodore.
Dr. Alec Land
Dr. Alec Land grew up in the Cleveland area and spent his childhood in wooded areas finding and observing wildlife. He always wanted to be a veterinarian because of his deep interest and curiosity about animals. Dr. Land attended undergraduate school at The College of Wooster (Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry), graduate school at Miami University (Master of Science in Zoology), and veterinary school at The Ohio State University. He graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. His primary interests currently include advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, and his patients benefit from his surgical talent.
Dr. Rona Shapiro
Dr. Rona Shapiro loves practicing veterinary medicine and feels blessed to be part of a professional community that cares for both animals and people. She was raised in Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Sciences. After working as a herdsman on a dairy farm and obtaining her Master of Science degree in Biochemistry, she attended and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Since that time, she and her husband, Dr. Alec Land, have co-owned the Groveport Canal Animal Hospital. Dr. Shapiro’s primary interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, cardiology, and soft tissue surgery.
Doctors Shapiro and Land have two daughters. They enjoy spending time as a family, and serving the community through the Groveport Madison Lions Club. They have a sweet little dog named Lily, a cat named Mango, and a horse named Montana.
