Why Pet Surgery is Safer than Ever

With advances in veterinary medicine, especially surgery, we’ve been able to provide our patients with the highest standard of surgical care possible. We take every precaution to minimize risk and keep patients relaxed and comfortable.

This includes:

  • Doing a pre-anesthetic exam and blood work so we can make sure your pet is healthy and can safely be sedated for their surgery
  • Administering pain relief medication to your pet both before and after their procedure
  • Providing continuous equipment and staff member monitoring of your pet’s vitals
  • Keeping your pet warm and hydrated throughout their surgery

What to Expect After Your Pet’s Surgery

When your pet is out of surgery, we’ll monitor them and make sure they wake up safely. We also want to make sure they can drink, eat, and eliminate without any trouble. When they’re ready to go home, our team will meet with you to talk about your pet’s procedure and answer any questions you have. You will receive a handout of instructions to help you manage your pet’s care at home for the next week. Depending on your pet’s surgery, we may also have you schedule a follow-up visit.

If you have concerns or questions while your pet is healing up at home, don’t hesitate to call us at (614) 476-0000. We are always happy to help and make your pet’s post-op recovery easier.

Surgery Cancellation Policy

Effective September 22, 2023 - To ensure the efficient scheduling of surgical appointments, we kindly ask that you provide us with at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Please note that a cancellation fee of 10% of the high end of the estimate or $150, whichever is greater,  will be applied to your account for failure to show up for a scheduled surgical appointment or cancel/reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice.

We understand that emergencies and unexpected situations may arise, and we will do our best to accommodate you in such cases. However, repeated cancellations and no-shows can affect our ability to provide timely care to all our patients.

To avoid missed appointments, we offer reminder calls, emails, and text messages as a courtesy. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to keep track of your appointments and notify us in a timely manner if you need to cancel or reschedule.

If a procedure is cancelled by the veterinarian as a medical necessity, there is no charge or fee for cancellation.
